Gulf Shores, Ala. – The EKU women's golf team finished strong at the final round of the Bama Beach Bash this Tuesday.
Dili Sitanonth spearheaded the Colonels' efforts shooting a career-low 69 (-3) to finish in 12
th at 11-over for the tournament.
"We had a better round today as a team. We still have a lot to build on moving forward," said head coach
Mandy Moore. "Dili and Karra finishing in the top 20 was great, and Dili did a great job coming back after a tough front nine yesterday to play her last 27 holes in 4 under par."
The performance saw the senior move up 17 positions on the final day thanks in part to the third-best scoring average on par-4s for the tournament.
As a team, the Colonels finished tied for sixth at 68-over, with their best round coming on the final day shooting 227 (+11) to finish the tournament.
Joining Sitanonth in the top 15 was freshman
Karra Tucker at 12-over, including a first-round 72 (E).
Tucker dominated the par-5s with the fourth-best scoring average at the tournament at three-under.
Fellow freshman
Imogen Jessen finished tied for 29
th at 20-over with
Elizabeth Tucci finishing seven shots back of Jessen in 48
th as both posted their best rounds on Tuesday at five and six-over.
Finishing the team scoring was
Claira Beth Ramsey ending tied for 55
th at 33-over, while individual
Maddi-Jo Benton finished 51
st at 30-over.
The Colonels will next hit the course on March 24 at the Pinetree CC Women's Collegiate hosted by Kennesaw State.
