Er Raouy Runs Personal Best in 1,500m to Advance to NCAA East Quarterfinals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Taha Er Raouy got the Eastern Kentucky University men's track & field team off to a strong start at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round on Wednesday night, advancing to the quarterfinals in the men's 1,500 meters.

After a multi-hour rain delay pushed the start of the 1,500m to 10:25 p.m., Er Raouy remained unfazed as he ran a personal best time of 3:40.73 to finish in third in his heat with the second fastest time in program history.

On the night, Er Raouy ran the 9th  fastest time across all four first-round heats.

The finish sees the Moroccan through to Friday's quarterfinals, where he will look to punch his ticket to the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
