LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's track and field teams concluded their 2025 outdoor regular season at the Jim Green Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
Khadija Ennasri got things started for EKU with the Colonels' first, top-place finish of the meet in the women's 3,000m steeplechase on Friday night with a time of 10:29.8, leading from the starting gun to the finishing line.
Shortly after, in the women's 1,500m
Edna Chelulei and
Karin Gosek finished in the top 10 with times of 4:28.79 and 4:30.78, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively.
Javon Adams turned in a solid performance in the men's javelin on Friday night, finishing in fifth with a throw of 52.03m (170'-08").
He followed that performance with a second-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.72m (45'-1/4") on Saturday.
On the track, it was a one-two finish for the Colonels in the men's 5,000m courtesy of
Tomas Vega and
Griffin Staude. Vega took the top spot with a time of 14:16.42, with Staude in second at 14:20.56.
The duo was closely followed by
German Vega, who finished fifth with a time of 14:39.6.
In the men's 800m
Taha Er Raouy ran a personal best time of 1:50.66 to finish third, with teammate Jan Badia following closely behind with a time of 1:50.86 in fourth position.
On the women's side on Saturday,
Mallory Hodge finished in third in the women's 100m with a time of 12.06.
In the women's shot put, freshman
Lariah Wooden finished in fourth with a throw of 13.72m (45'-1/4").
