Women’s Basketball Preps for In-State Clash at Bellarmine

EKU Riding Seven-Game Winning Streak, Sits Alone atop ASUN Conference at 5-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Riding a seven-game winning streak and a perfect start to Atlantic Sun Conference play, the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team heads west on I-64 to face in-state rival Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon inside Knights Hall.

Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET, fans traveling to Louisville can purchase tickets online here. Those unable to attend can follow the action live on ESPN+ or listen for free on the Colonels All-Access page and @EKUWBB on X, with Wes Chandler on the call.

EKU (14-4, 5-0 ASUN) enters the weekend unbeaten in league play after a 69-60 home victory over Lipscomb on Friday night, a win that vaulted the Colonels into sole possession of first place in the ASUN standings.

Senior guard Ndidiamaka Ndukwe led EKU against Lipscomb with a season-high 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including two 3-pointers, and a 7-for-8 performance at the free throw line. The outing marked Ndukwe's second straight 20-point game, making her the first Colonel in two seasons to post consecutive 20-point performances.

On the season, Ndukwe is averaging 11.1 points per game, ranking third on the team, while shooting 43 percent from the field.

Sophomore guard Liz Freihofer also reached double figures for the 16th time this season and the 34th time in her career against Lipscomb, finishing with 12 points on four made 3-pointers. The reigning ASUN Player of the Week has scored 10 or more points in six straight games and poured in 26 points just over a week ago in a road win at North Alabama.

The Colonels' backcourt depth has continued to shine behind freshman Kenleigh Woods and senior Althea Kara Angeles. Woods, an Ashland, Kentucky native, ranks fourth on the team at 9.7 points per game and recorded a career-high six steals against Lipscomb, becoming just the third ASUN player over the last two seasons to notch six steals in a conference game.

Angeles, now in her third season at EKU, is averaging 8.9 points per game and leads the ASUN with 78 assists and 4.3 assists per contest. The Australian guard has flirted with triple-doubles in three games this season.

As a team, EKU continues to gain national recognition, ranking No. 124 in the latest NCAA NET rankings and receiving votes for the 14th time over the last three years in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

Head coach Greg Todd was also recognized this week as the Week 8 WHoopDirt.com Women's Division I National Coach of the Week after guiding the Colonels to a perfect start in conference play.

Scouting Bellarmine
