EKU Men Finish 11th at Loaded Nuttycombe Invitational, Defeat 10 Nationally-Ranked Teams

VERONA, Wis.
– The No. 23 Eastern Kentucky University men's cross country team finished 11th out of 35 teams at the loaded Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday at the Thomas Zimmer championship Course.
 
The Colonels defeated 10 nationally-ranked teams at the meet, including No. 22 Tennessee, No. 11 Northern Arizona, No. 18 Michigan State, No. 21 Butler, No. 2 Iowa State, No. 13 Washington, No. 17 Washington State, No. 26 Georgia, No. 27 Michigan, and No. 29 Missouri.
 
Senior All-American Taha Er Raouy paced the Colonels in Wisconsin, placing 10th out of 232 runners and covering the rugged 8K course in a personal-best time of 22:47.0.
 
Newcomer Brett Rushman was second on the team and 52nd overall in a time of 23:30.7.
 
Freshman Abel Kirui (87th / 23:50.3), junior Bradley Giblin (23:54.9), and sophomore Enoch Bokaba (127th / 24:05.2) rounded out the Colonels' scoring five on the day.
 
The Colonel men return to action at the UAC Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 30. The meet will be held in Richmond at the University Club at Arlington.
