Colonels Claim Three Weekly ASUN T&F Honors

RICHMOND, Ky. – Another week of action saw another week of honors for the Eastern Kentucky University track and field program as Edna Chelulei, Matthew See, and Brian Kimutai claimed ASUN Conference Performer of the Week recognition as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Chelulei takes the women's track performer of the week honor for the third time this indoor season after a historic performance at the Husky Classic last Saturday.
 
Chelulei took first in the women's 5,000 meters with a historic time of 15:05.16, an EKU record, and the 10th fastest time ever run in NCAA history.
 
On the men's side, Matthew See takes his first conference honor of the season after taking first in the shot put at the Centre Indoor Invite with a mark of 16.38m, moving him into second all-time in EKU history.
 
Rounding out the honors, Kimutai takes the ASUN Freshman of the Week award after finishing first in the men's mile at Centre with a time of 4:12.93.
 
The Colonels round out the indoor regular season at The Saucony Battle for Boston this Sunday.
