BOSTON / SEATTLE / DANVILLE, Ky. – On a busy Saturday for the Eastern Kentucky University track program, the Colonels competed at three separate events, with the day being highlighted by Edna Chelulei and Kristan Simmons.
 
At the Husky Classic in Washington, Edna Chelulei smashed her own school record in the women's 5,000m, winning the invite section in a time of 15:05.16, the fourth fastest time in the NCAA this season.
 
At the Centre Indoor Invite, Kristan Simmons broke her own EKU record in the women's weight throw, taking first place with a mark of 18.21m.
 
Also in Danville, Matthew See took first in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.38m, moving him into second all-time in EKU history.
 
In the women's shot put, Lariah Wooden took first place with a throw of 15.41m, just shy of her own school record of 15.44m.
 
On the track, Irene Rubio Miralles was just two seconds off her school record in the 600m, taking first place at 1:36.72.
 
In Boston, Metrine Serem and Khadija Ennasri turned in strong performances in the mile, finishing 26^th and 30^th in 4:47.16 and 4:47.67, respectively.
 
The Colonels will finish the indoor regular season next weekend at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invite.
