RICHMOND, Ky. – For the second straight week, Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's track and field teams claimed two ASUN Conference Performer of the Week awards, with
Edna Chelulei and
Bradley Giblin claiming the conference's track honors.
Chelulei takes the weekly honor on the women's side for the second time this season after claiming her second school record of the indoor season with one of the top times in the nation in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:52.79 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston last Friday.
The Kenyan claimed her first runner of the week award of the season in December, breaking her first school record back of the season in Boston with a time of 15:42.14 in the 5,000m.
On the men's side,
Bradley Giblin earns his first honor of the season after a stellar EKU debut at the PNC Lenny Lyles Classic last Saturday.
The Manchester, UK native Giblin ran a 3:56.29 mile time, finishing second at the meet, with the 20th fastest time in the NCAA this season, while becoming just the third Colonel all-time to run a sub-four-minute mile.
