GADSDEN, Ala. – Lanie Campbell fired a final round 72 and the Eastern Kentucky University women's golf team shot its best round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic to turn in a 12th place finish on Tuesday.

The Colonels shot rounds of 314, 318 and 311 for a total of 943. EKU was just three shots out of a top-10 finish. Alabama-Birmingham (940) was 10th and Akron (941) was 11th. The Colonels were seven shots better than Seton Hall (950) in 13th.

The 16 teams competed over three days on the par-72, 6,214-yard course at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Silver Lakes.

No. 21 ranked Tennessee (869) captured the team title. Chattanooga (904) was second and host Jacksonville State (906) finished third.

Campbell birdied seven holes during the final round, including three over a 4-hole stretch in the middle of the round. Her final round even-par 72 followed rounds of 76 and 82 on Sunday and Monday. The senior tied for 23rd with a total of 230.
