Finals Results
GALLAWAY, N.J. – Only two top-25 teams finished in front of Eastern Kentucky, which tied for third, at the Columbia University Invitational in Gallaway, N.J. The Colonels (925) tied with St. John’s University and finished behind 21st ranked Texas Christian University (894) and 13th ranked University of Florida (903).
EKU carded a final round score of 312 to hold off St. John’s which finished the third round with a 307. Texas Christian fired the best round of the tournament (291) and place four players among the top-6 in the individual standings.
Senior
Shaun McConnell led Eastern Kentucky, and tied for 14th overall, with a three-round total of 230, 17-over par.
Trey Bowling and freshman
Brian Fister tied for 17th with totals of 231.
Jesse Massie (234) tied for 26th and
Brandon Berry (240) tied for 45th.
The Columbia University Invitational was contested at the Galloway National Golf Club, a par-71, 6,966-yard course.
The Colonels have finished the fall portion of their 2008-09 schedule. The team will return to action in February at the Morehead State Spring Kickoff, which will be played in Oxnard, Calif.
