Colonel Women's Tennis Remains Perfect in OVC Action

RICHMOND, Ky. – In its home finale Tuesday, the Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team defeated OVC rival Morehead State by a count of 6-1. The Colonels (15-5, 6-0 OVC) remain perfect in league action and have now won eight straight matches.

Eastern won four of the six singles matches in straight sets, led by junior Svetlana Pimenova’s 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Morehead State’s (6-11, 2-4) lone win came from Heather Butt at No. 4 singles.

“The women are playing with an amazing amount of confidence right now,” EKU head coach Rob Oertel said. “We need to guard against overconfidence as we face some tough road matches this weekend.”
