MARTIN, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team kept its perfect conference record intact thanks to a 5-2 victory over UT Martin Saturday afternoon. The Colonels (17-5, 8-0 OVC) have now won 10 consecutive matches.

After dropping the doubles point, EKU responded by taking five of the six singles matches. Freshman Anouk Faure clinched the team win with a three-set triumph at No. 4 singles. Fellow freshman Myriem Mhirit moved to 7-0 against OVC opponents with a 6-0, 6-3 decision at No. 5 singles.

“Our depth has been our greatest strength all year and it came through for us again today,” EKU head coach Rob Oertel said.

Eastern Kentucky finishes the regular season schedule next weekend at Jacksonville State and Samford.
