TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak Friday with a 5-2 victory over host Indiana State. The Colonels improve to 9-8 while the Sycamores fall to 0-10.
Three of the six singles matches went to a deciding third set. Sophomore Alex Das Izquierdo clinched the EKU win with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Mpiloenhle Migogo at No. 1 singles. Freshman Carles Pons Escanilla also tallied a three-set win, defeating Indiana State’s Milos Pavlovic at No. 4 singles. Freshmen

Niklas Schroeder (No. 6) each won their matches in straight sets.
"Indiana State is a much better team than its record indicates," EKU head coach Rob Oertel said. "They were hungry to get their first win and I was glad to see our team respond to the challenge."
The Colonels continue their weekend road swing tomorrow at OVC foe Eastern Illinois. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
