RICHMOND, Ky. – Xavier’s Andrea Wolf won the clinching match at No. 5 singles to give the visiting Musketeers a 4-3 victory over the Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team Friday afternoon in the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center. This was the first loss of the season for the Colonels (2-1).

Sophomore Melissa Gerritsen (No. 3) and junior Saioa Oscoz (No. 4) each battled to three-set wins for EKU. Fellow junior Milena Poffo added a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles, but it came after Wolf had clinched the match for Xavier.

The Musketeers (2-1) won two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point before winning at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles in straight sets.

Next up for EKU is its first road match of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Ohio State. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
