RICHMOND, Ky. – Even after a week off, the Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team looked to be in top form Sunday with a decisive 7-0 victory over Butler. The Colonels are now 4-2 this season.
Eastern won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Junior
Milena Poffo (No. 5) and freshman
Danielle Kinnen (No. 6) each won their singles matches without dropping a game. With her win, junior
Saioa Oscoz improves to 5-1 in singles matches this winter.
“The best part of today’s match was that we were able to get all eight players involved,” EKU head coach Rob Oertel said. “This was a good warm-up and gave us a chance to work on some things, especially in doubles, for our match against Louisville on Thursday.”
Eastern Kentucky hosts Louisville this Thursday, Feb. 14 beginning at 2 p.m.
