COLLEGE STATION, Texas – In opening round action of the 2015 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships Friday afternoon, the Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team fell to No. 5 Texas A&M, 4-0.
The Aggies (22-4), featuring four singles players ranked among the top 100 in the nation, won at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles in straight sets.
"We only played two teams in the top 75 this year, so I think we played well considering the circumstances," EKU head coach
Rob Oertel said. "Our future is really bright with this group. Two guys are graduating so that's it. I've got a good corps of guys coming back, and this is a great experience for them, for sure."
Juanjo de la Llera and
Daridge Saidi are the lone seniors leaving the EKU (18-8) squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time since 2010. Eastern's top two players, junior
