BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The EKU men's tennis team fell, 6-1, on Sunday to Samford University at the Darwin C. Hudson Courts.
Senior
Alex Álvaro and sophomore
Ramon van Flymen improved their record to 5-2 at the No.1 spot, claiming a 6-3 win in doubles play to even the match at one heading into the deciding doubles match.
Samford's Fares Kilani and Justin Ghavami scarcely defeated EKU's
Diogo Soares and
Indra Patwardhan, 7-6, to clinch the doubles' point.
Samford then took the first three singles' points to win the match.
Freshman
Guillem Sanchis tallied his seventh win of the season in singles play with a win over Eduardo Lourido Sanchez, but only after Samford had earned the win.
The Colonels (8-7) host Kennesaw State University at the Greg Adams Tennis Center on March 5. Saturday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
