COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The EKU men's tennis team endured its second Ohio Valley Conference defeat in a 5-2 loss at Tennessee Tech University on Saturday.
 
EKU (15-11, 4-2 OVC) entered Saturday's match riding a three-match win streak after suffering its first conference loss last Friday at Belmont.
 
The Colonels fell behind early, as the Golden Eagles controlled doubles play. TTU won the first two singles matches to take a 3-0 lead in the match.
 
Diogo Soares' 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot held off TTU, along with Alex Álvaro's 6-1, 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot that pulled the Colonels within one.
 
However, the Golden Eagles were able to fend off the EKU rally on their way to the win.
 
The Colonels host Morehead State University on Tuesday at Tom Higgins Courts. Tuesday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
