CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – With a convincing 6-1 win over Southeast Missouri State University on Friday, the EKU women's tennis team extended its win streak to seven matches to remain undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play.
EKU's (12-8, 7-0 OVC)
Laura Argente and
Raquel Montalvo picked up a 6-4 win in doubles play, before the Colonels claimed the point on a SEMO default to take a 1-0 lead.
Following another default by the Redhawks to open singles play, EKU extended its lead with wins by
Marina Marti and
Margaux Lacroix in convincing fashion to improve its record to 7-0 in conference play, as both remained undefeated in conference singles play.
Argente and
Corentine Bodin added singles wins push the final score to 6-1 for the day and extended their singles win streak to six matches.
The Colonels continue league play on Saturday at UT Martin. Saturday's match is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
