BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After averaging 18 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week, junior A'Queen Hayes was chosen as the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
 
Hayes was a unanimous selection.
 
On Thursday, Hayes had 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals at Austin Peay.  On Saturday, the Horn Lake, Mississippi native finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds at Murray State.
 
In both games combined, the 5-foot-8 guard made 50 percent of her shots (15-of-30), averaged 2.5 steals and two assists per game.
 
This marks the sixth time Hayes has earned OVC Newcomer of the Week honors.  Hayes is averaging 15.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, ranking among the top-10 in the conference in all three categories.
 
The Colonels begin a four-game home stand on Thursday when OVC leader Belmont visits McBrayer Arena.  The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
