RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's basketball teams will play their first Ohio Valley Conference home games of the season on Thursday when the Colonels host SIUE in a doubleheader at McBrayer Arena. The women tip at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 8:00 p.m.

- The Colonels (4-7, 1-1 OVC) knocked off Tennessee Tech, 76-68 to earn its first OVC win of the season Saturday afternoon in Cookeville.

Abby Wright scored a career-high 22 points and was nearly perfect from the foul line (6-of-7) against the Golden Eagles. She was 4-of-6 from behind the arc.

A'Queen Hayes secured her third OVC Newcomer of the Week award after averaging 13.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg against Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech. The Ole Miss transfer scored 20 points and was 6-of-7 from the foul line in the Colonels road win against Tennessee Tech.
- EKU tied a season-high 19 turnovers against Tennessee Tech, the most turnovers the Colonels forced in a game since Eastern forced 25 against the Golden Eagles last season on Jan. 28.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- SIUE (5-8, 2-0 OVC) won their first two conference games this past weekend on the road, defeating Austin Peay, 61-38, and Murray State, 75-70. The Cougars had lost their previous six games coming into that weekend.
- Lauren White leads the Cougars in both scoring (14.9 ppg) and assists (2.3 apg).
- The Colonels trail the all-time series with SIUE, 4-7. However, the Colonels have won the last two matchups, both coming last season.

- EKU (6-9, 0-2 OVC) dropped a pair of OVC road games at Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech last week.
- Junior
Nick Mayo poured in a season-high 26 points at Tennessee Tech on Saturday in Cookeville. Mayo is averaging nearly 23.0 points-per-game in his career vs. Tech.
- Mayo passed Justin Stommes to reach No. 17 on EKU's all-time scoring list on Saturday (1,282 points). Next up on the list: EKU Hall-of-Famer Michael Haney (1,289) and
Eric Stutz (1,338).

Dujuanta Weaver played a career-high 35 minutes and scored a career-high eight points at TTU. He also dished out a season-best eight assists to go along with only one turnover.

DeAndre Dishman recorded his second double-double of the season at Tennessee Tech (12 points, 11 rebounds). He also posted career highs in blocks (three) and steals (three).
- EKU has now won the turnover battle in its last five games. The Colonels have forced their last three opponents into a combined 57 turnovers.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- SIUE (4-9, 0-2 OVC) dropped road games at Austin Peay and Murray State last week.
- Jalen Henry paces the Cougars at 16.0 points-per-game and 8.2 rebounds-per-game.
- This will be the 10
th all-time meeting between EKU and SIUE. Eastern holds a narrow advantage in the series, 5-4. The Colonels defeated the Cougars, 78-61, last year in Richmond.
