EKU Baseball Travels To No.15 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
Eastern Kentucky hits the road to take on 15th ranked Virginia at Davenport Field in Charlottesville, Virginia for a three-game series this weekend.
 
First pitch for Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. Followed by a 1 p.m. start for Saturday and Sunday's games.
 
The Colonels (0-4, 0-0 OVC) are coming off a tough two run loss to No. 13 ranked Louisville on Tuesday. Virginia (2-2, 0-0 ACC) is coming off a 9-4 home loss to Virginia Military Institute on Tuesday night.
 
EKU's offense is led by Nick Howie and Tyler Romanik. Howie is batting a team-high .308 with one double, one triple, with two RBIs on the year. Romanik is also batting a team-best .308 to go along with his one home run and two RBIs.
 
The Colonels will send Aaron Oschenbein to the mound Friday night. He will go up against junior lefty Daniel Lynch.
 
On Saturday EKU will send Austin Perry to the mound and he will go up against fellow senior Derek Casey. The two starters have allowed a combined one earned run on the year.
 
Kaven Brown will get the nod for game three against fellow junior Evan Sperling. Brown and Sperling have combined for zero earned runs this year.
 
The Eastern Kentucky staff has an OVC-best 3.21 ERA on the year this far.
 
After they finish up the weekend series in Virginia, the Colonels return to Richmond for their home-opener Wednesday, Feb. 28th when they take on Bowling Green. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
