David Alvarez was chosen as the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
In three games last week, Alvarez hit .667 with five runs, four doubles, one home run and nine RBIs. He went 10-for-15 at the plate, with half of his hits for extra bases. Alvarez posted a 1.133 slugging percentage and a .706 on-base percentage. He struck out only two times in his 15 at bats.
The Toronto, Ontario native went 5-for-6 with two runs and five RBIs in game one of a 3-game sweep at Bellarmine. He finished 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs in game two.
The Colonels finished the season by winning eight of their final 11 games, including two straight ASUN Conference series.
