RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky baseball team welcomes in-state rival Morehead State for a three-game series this weekend at Earle Combs Stadium.

Because of poor weather conditions expected on Saturday, a doubleheader is scheduled for Friday, with first pitch at 2 p.m. Game two will follow approximately 30 minutes after the ending of game one. If the unfavorable weather conditions materialize as expected, game three of the series will be Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Colonels (7-14, 0-3 OVC) are coming off a weekend series against Mercer University. The Eagles (13-9, 4-2 OVC) are coming off a pair of mid-week wins against Alabama State, 7-5 and 9-4. Â

EKUs offense is led by
Ryland Kerr and
Tyler Romanik. Kerr is batting a team-high .313, with six doubles, two triples, and seven RBIs. Romanik is hitting .295 to go three doubles, two home runs, and 12 RBIs. Â

MSUs offense is led by Braxton Morris and Bryce Hensor. Morris is hitting a team-high .447 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs. Hensor has a .345 batting-average with two doubles and 10 RBIs. Â

Logan Teague will take the mound for the Colonels in game one on Friday. Teague is 1-3 on the year with a 6.31 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 25 and two-thirds inning. He will go against right-hander David Calderon. Calderon is 1-2 with a 1.82 ERA.

For game two Friday, EKU will send
Kaven Brown to the mound. He is 1-1 on the year with a 5.06 ERA to go with 15 strikeouts over 16 innings pitched. He will go up against Dalton Stambaugh. Stambaugh is 3-2 with 25 strikeouts over 31 and one-third innings pitched.

Austin Perry will take the mound for game three against the Eagles. Perry is 1-1 with a 4.19 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 19 and one-third innings pitched. He will face off against fellow senior Kyle Cantu who is 1-0 on the year with a 3.12 ERA.Â

Eastern Kentucky continues their home stand when they take on fellow in-state rival Western Kentucky University on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
