RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky will play at East Tennessee today at 4 p.m.
 
The Colonels suffered a 16-5 loss at No. 5 Kentucky on Tuesday.  EKU closed to within one run of the Wildcats twice before the home team pulled away late in the game.
 
After going 10-for-13 (.769) in a three-game series against Coppin State, shortstop Ryland Kerr was 2-for-4 at No. 5 Kentucky.
 
Redshirt freshman Darren Williams is expected to start for Eastern Kentucky (5-7).  He made his first two relief appearances this season against No. 13 Louisville and No. 15 Virginia.  Williams did not allow a run in 5.2 innings, gave up three hits, walked two and struck out three against those ranked opponents.  He has now pitched 6.2 innings this season without allowing a run.
 
East Tennessee is 5-4 this season.  The Bucs earned wins over Tennessee (10-9) and Memphis (8-2) over the weekend.
