The Colonels suffered a 16-5 loss at No. 5 Kentucky on Tuesday. EKU closed to within one run of the Wildcats twice before the home team pulled away late in the game.

Darren Williams is expected to start for Eastern Kentucky (5-7). He made his first two relief appearances this season against No. 13 Louisville and No. 15 Virginia. Williams did not allow a run in 5.2 innings, gave up three hits, walked two and struck out three against those ranked opponents. He has now pitched 6.2 innings this season without allowing a run.

East Tennessee is 5-4 this season. The Bucs earned wins over Tennessee (10-9) and Memphis (8-2) over the weekend.
