OXFORD, Ala. – The baseball continues its road trip when the Colonels travel south to take on Jacksonville State University for a three-game series starting Friday night at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. EKU will carry a six-game winning streak into this weekend's contest, it's longest winning streak since 2012.

The Colonels (22-20, 12-6 OVC) are coming off a mid-week, 12-8, victory over Xavier University on Wednesday night. The Gamecocks (22-15, 11-7 OVC) are coming off a mid-week loss to Alabama State by a score of 6-2.

EKU's offense is led by
Alex Holderbach and
Ryland Kerr. Holderbach is batting a team-high .376, with 10 doubles, two triples, and a team-high 13 home runs and 61 RBIs. He leads the country in RBIs and hit a school record four home runs on Wednesday at Xavier. Kerr is hitting at a .343 clip to go along with a team-high 17 doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 26 RBIs.

Cornell Nixon continues to cause problems on the base paths as he ranks sixth in the country in stolen bases and third in stolen bases per game. Both which rank tops in the Ohio Valley Conference.

JSU's offense is led by Andrew Naismith and Nic Gaddis. Naismith is hitting at a .324 clip with five doubles, six home runs, and 21 RBIs. Naismith has a .316 batting-average with a team-high 15 doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 39 RBIs.

Logan Teague will get the nod for the Colonels in game one on Friday. He is 4-4 on the year with 5.17 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 54 innings pitched. Teague is coming off a complete game performance a week ago. He will face off against fellow junior Garrett Farmer. Farmer is 5-0 on the year with 2.95 ERA on the year.

Jack Piekos will go for the Colonels in game two on Saturday in the battle of the lefties. He is 2-2 on the year with 6.51 ERA and has struck out 27 batters over 27 and two-thirds inning pitched. Piekos is coming off his first quality start of the year. Derrick Adams will go for the JSU, he is 3-2 on the year with a 5.66 ERA.

A starter has not been named for the Colonels on Sunday, but they will square off against senior right-hander Colton Pate. He is 3-3 on the year with a 4.21 ERA while striking out 61 batters over 57 and two-thirds inning pitched.
