RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky will host Xavier for a midweek baseball contest on Wednesday.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
 
As part of EKU's Greek Week, the Colonels will welcome members of EKU's fraternities and sororities to the game for Greek Night.  These students will have a chance to win a gift basket.  Check-in will be located to the left of the concession stand.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Musketeers lead the all-time series 31-29.
 
-  The two teams split two games last season, with each winning on the others home field.  In the two games, the two teams combined for 56 runs. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 16-13 after taking two of three at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  It was the Colonels second straight conference series win.
 
-  In three games against UTM, the Colonels averaged 14.3 runs per game.     
 
-  The Colonels have 70 stolen bases.  That is fifth in the nation and 19 more than any other OVC team.
 
-  Nick Howie is tied for first in the OVC in total bases (69), third with eight home runs and third in slugging (.645).  Will Johnson leads the conference in stolen bases (19) and walks (31).  Ryland Kerr leads the OVC with 33 runs.  Kaven Brown leads the OVC with six wins.
 
-  Kerr (27) and Howie (25) have both reached base in 25 or more straight games.  Howie has a 14-game hitting streak.    
 
-  Freshman Jacob Ferris will start on the mound for EKU.  The right-hander is 2-2 this season with a 7.50 ERA.  He has 25 strikeouts in 24 innings of work.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Xavier is 9-18 after being swept at No. 13 Texas over the weekend.  The Musketeers lost all three games by the score of 6-5.  
 
-  Chris Givin leads the team with a .316 average to go along with 12 runs scored and 10 RBIs.
 
-  Ryan Altenberger has a team-best 22 runs scored.  Jake Shepski is hitting .312 and leads Xavier with 19 RBIs.
