RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern's baseball team will make the short drive north to face Cincinnati on Wednesday.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The series between the two teams is tied 25-25.
 
-  The Colonels and Bearcats haven't played each other since the 2005 season.
 
-  UC won the most recent meeting, 8-4, in Cincinnati on May 17, 2005. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 23-17 overall and 10-8 against Ohio Valley Conference teams.  The Colonels went 1-2 this past weekend against Jacksonville State, who entered the weekend as the conference leader.
 
-  In his last 10 games, freshman third baseman Logan Thomason is hitting .469 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored.
 
-  As a team, EKU is 16th in the nation in scoring (7.8 runs per game) and 17th in runs (311).  The Colonels have scored 10 or more runs in a game 11 times this season.
 
-  Will Johnson leads the OVC in stolen bases (22) and walks (39).  Nick Howie is tied for third with 28 walks and tied for third with 11 home runs.  Ryland Kerr is second in the OVC with 47 runs.
 
-  Freshman Jacob Ferris will start on the mound for EKU.  The right-hander is 4-3 this season with a 5.92 ERA.  He has 35 strikeouts in 38 innings of work.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Cincinnati is 18-21 overall and 8-7 in the American Athletic Conference.  The Bearcats host No. 7 Louisville on Tuesday night.
 
-  UC began last weekend's series at Houston with a victory to stretch its winning streak to four straight, but the Bearcats lost the final two of the series.   
 
-  AJ Bumpass leads the Bearcats with 26 runs and 25 RBIs, but is hitting .255.
 
-  Joey Bellini has a team-best .349 average to go along with 19 runs and 13 RBIs.
