RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern's baseball team will play its final non-conference game of the regular season when the Colonels take on Western Carolina on Tuesday in Mason, Ohio.
 
The game will be played at Prasco Park and begin at 6:30 p.m.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Western Carolina leads the all-time series 17-9.
 
-  EKU won the most recent meeting between the two teams, beating the Catamounts, 10-5, in Richmond last season. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 28-23 overall.  The Colonels are coming off a series victory at Southeast Missouri over the weekend.
 
-  As a team, EKU is seventh in the nation in stolen bases (125) and 21st in scoring (7.5 runs per game).
 
Will Johnson leads the conference in stolen bases (27) and walks (49).  Nick Howie is first in the OVC with a .474 on-base percentage.  Ryland Kerr is tied for second in the league in runs (55).
 
-  Catcher A.J. Lewis is hitting .361 with 10 runs and six RBIs in his last 10 games.  He also has a .528 slugging percentage and a .452 on-base percentage during that time.
 
Logan Teague, a senior right-hander, will start on the mound for the Colonels.  He is 2-4 this season with a 7.36 ERA.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Western Carolina is 18-28 this season.  
 
-  The Catamounts were swept last weekend at Samford and have lost eight straight overall.
 
-  Justice Bigbie leads the team in average (.387), runs (49), RBIs (50) and is tied for the team lead in home runs (12).
 
-  Ryan Mitschelle will start for WCU.  He is 0-2 this season with a 9.98 ERA in 11 appearances.  In 15 and one third innings of work the redshirt sophomore right-hander has allowed 17 earned runs.
