RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky will host Tennessee Tech this weekend for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Earle Combs Stadium.
Friday's game will serve as EKU Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day. Faculty and staff will receive FREE admission to the game and their guests can get discounted tickets for $3. Friday is also a Bark in the Park game. Dogs will receive FREE admission and a FREE dog biscuit.
Head coach
Edwin Thompson will be coaching Saturday's game barefoot to raise awareness for Samaritan's Feet, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children that need them.
Game one of the series is currently scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. Game two will be Saturday at 11 a.m. The series concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. Monitor EKUSports.com for any changes to the schedule due to weather conditions.
The games on Friday and Saturday are currently scheduled to air live on ESPN+, weather permitting.

- Eastern leads the all-time series 75-72-1.
- Tennessee Tech, ranked 19th in the nation at the time, swept the Colonels last season in Cookeville.
THE COLONELS
- Eastern Kentucky is 24-21 overall and 10-11 against OVC teams. The Colonels were swept last week at Murray State, but beat Northern Kentucky on Tuesday.
- As a team, EKU is seventh in the nation in stolen bases (105), 19th in runs (343), 19th in scoring (7.6 runs per game) and 21st in home runs (54).

Will Johnson leads the conference in stolen bases (23) and walks (44).
Nick Howie is tied for second in the OVC with 38 walks and is second with a .476 on-base percentage.
Ryland Kerr is second in the league in runs (50).

Logan Teague, a senior right-hander who is 2-3 with a 6.66 ERA, will start for the Colonels on Friday. The game two starter will be freshman righty
Jacob Ferris, who is 4-4 with a 6.25 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 44 and two-thirds innings.
Brennan Kelly, a junior left-hander who is 2-4 with a 5.37 ERA, will start Sunday.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Tennessee Tech is 18-25 this season and 6-15 in OVC play.
- The Golden Eagles lost two of three at home to Belmont last weekend and were beaten by No. 2 Vanderbilt on Tuesday.
- Kevin Strohschein leads the team with a .364 average and 47 runs scored, to go along with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs. Jason Hinchman has a team-best 19 home runs and 48 RBIs.
- Senior Andrew O'Dwyer will start for TTU on Friday. The left-hander is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA and 31 strikeouts in just 30 and two thirds innings. Mark Leonard, a junior right-hander, will start game two of the series. He is 2-2 with a 6.13 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 47 innings of work. Sunday's starter has not been named.
