RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team welcomed two members – Paityn Walker and Elizabeth Fonvielle – on Friday, head coach Johnna Bazzani announced.

"I am very excited to announce our 2021 beach recruiting class, Paityn Walker and Elizabeth Fonvielle," Bazzani said. "Both of these two incoming student-athletes play for prominent beach volleyball club teams. With these two being beach only players and our beach volleyball program still being new, these two are going to bring a completely new level of play to help steer this beach program to where it needs to go."

Walker comes from Fredericksburg, Virginia where she helped lead her team to a 23-8 record during the indoor season of her junior campaign. She posted 989 assists, 87 aces, 266 digs, and 106 kills on the season. She led the team to a Commonwealth District Championship and a quarterfinal regional appearance. Walker was an AVP East Coast Championship Bid Winner and a USAV National Beach Junior Championships open division bid winner. She posted 101 wins over 19 tournaments and finished in the top three of 16 of those tournaments.

Fonvielle comes from Hampstead, North Carolina where she played at Topsail High School. She finished first in the Wilmington, North Carolina Challenge AVP Qualifier, the Carolina USAV Championships, and the Sinjin Beach College Showcase Event. Fonvielle posted a second place finish in the AAU National Qualifier. She ranks 53rd nationally in the 18U AVP rankings.
