RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams will head to Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday for their final tune-up before the OVC Indoor Championships: Hoosier Hills.

The meet gets underway with both track and field events at 4 p.m. on Saturday. It is scheduled to wrap up around 9 p.m. with the 4x400 meter relays.

Four other Colonels – seniors
Samuel Abascal (3,000 meters) and
Zach Stewart (5,000 meters) and freshmen
Ezekiel Rop (3,000 meters) and
Alex Leshan (3,000 meters) – will compete at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational. That meet will stream live on Flotrack.

The EKU men enter the final regular season weekend with two OVC-best performances: junior
Nickson Rotich in the 800 meters (1:50.75#) and junior
Zak Kirk in the mile (4:10.91#).

Kirk also owns the No. 2 3,000 meters time (8:23.09) and the No. 3 5,000 meters time (14:39.9) in the conference.

Five other Colonels also rank in the top-three in the OVC in an event – sophomore
Brandon Brookfield in the pole vault (No. 2 / 15-1), sophomore
Samuel Carter in the triple jump (No. 3 / 47-1.75), sophomore
Bryce Favors-Charleston in the high jump (No. 3 / 6-3.5), freshman Pedro Garcia in the 3,000 meters (No. 3 / 8:23.9#) and sophomore
Jackson Siddall in the mile (No. 3 / 4:11.84#).
