RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University athletics announced its guidelines for home softball and baseball games this season after designing a distanced seating plan and receiving necessary approvals.
Facemasks are required to be worn at all times when attending games at Earle Combs Stadium or Gertrude Hood Field. Upon entry into the venue, fans and staff will be temperature screened.
Earle Combs Stadium and Gertrude Hood Field will operate at 20 percent of capacity. Season ticket holders were given the chance to receive tickets with similar vantage points, and around patrons they are used to seeing, before additional seats were released to the general public.
Baseball and softball tickets will be sold as single game tickets based on availability for each game of the season. Current season ticket holders for each sport will be contacted about their plan and season tickets. If you are interested in single game or season tickets, please contact the EKU Ticket Office for availability. All seats at Earle Combs Stadium and Gertrude Hood Field are reserved, no general admission seating will be available.
EKU Athletics has instituted a variable pricing model for all single game tickets and prices for games vary between contests. If tickets become available as a result of unclaimed student tickets or unclaimed player/guest pass list tickets, they will be released two to four days before each game with an announcement made available via social media accounts associated with the programs.
Student seating at Gertrude Hood Field for softball will be available just outside the venue behind the outfield wall free of charge. Within this area students will be allowed to bring their own chairs, blankets and concession items. Students will also be able to request a ticket for no charge on game days if available. Due to venue restrictions, there is not currently a student specific space at Earle Combs Stadium for baseball, but students will be able to request a ticket for no charge on game days if available.
For additional ticket information or questions call the EKUSports Ticket Office at 859-622-2122.
Fans with pre-existing health conditions, or those who are at a greater risk, should consider not attending on-campus sporting events during this time. It can't be guaranteed that fans will not be exposed to COVID-19.
