LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After three games against No. 15 Georgia Tech to begin the 2021 season, Eastern will play at No. 4 University of Louisville on Tuesday.
 
The game at Jim Patterson Stadium will begin at 3 p.m. and will air live on the ACC Network Extra.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Louisville leads the all-time series 56-33. 
 
-  When the teams last met, on March 19, 2019, the Colonels lost at No. 4 Louisville 12-8. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (1-2) beat No. 15 Georgia Tech, 9-6, on Saturday in Atlanta.  The Yellowjackets won the first game of the series 12-6 and the series final 7-1.
 
-  The win was the program's sixth victory against a top-30 ranked team since the start of the 2016 season.
 
-  Mount Vernon native Brent Lovell hit a 3-run home run in the victory over Georgia Tech.
 
-  Will Brian closed out the win at Georgia Tech and earned the save.  Brian, who missed the 2020 season with an injury, came on to pitch in the eighth and retired the side in order.  After Georgia Tech's first two batters in the bottom of the ninth reached to bring the tying run to the plate, Brian got a strike out and then a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.
 
-  Outfielder Caleb Upshaw hit .308 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs in the opening series at No. 15 Georgia Tech.
 
-  Left-hander Brennan Kelly will start for the Colonels.  The senior earned the win against Georgia Tech after pitching two and one-third innings in relief.  He allowed three runs on five hits, did not walk a batter and struck out two.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Louisville began the season with three wins over Bellarmine.  The Cardinals limited the Knights to five runs in three games.  
 
-  Left fielder/designated hitter Cameron Masterman leads the team with a .545 batting average.  The junior hit three home runs, drove in six runs and scored four times against Bellarmine.  Three of his six hits in the series were long balls  
 
-  Henry Davis, ranked as the No. 2 catcher in the nation by D1Baseball.com, is hitting .400 with one home run, four RBIs and five runs.
 
-  Left-hander Luke Seed will start on the mound for the Cardinals, making his first appearance of the season.
