RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky's home-opener is scheduled for Saturday against Presbyterian College at Earle Combs Stadium.

The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

THE COLONELS
- EKU (1-3) began the 2021 season with four straight games against teams ranked among the top-15 in the nation. The Colonels won one of three at No. 15 Georgia Tech before falling 6-2 at No. 4 Louisville on Tuesday.

- Redshirt sophomore closer Wil Brian has made two relief appearances this season -- at No. 15 Georgia Tech and at No. 4 Louisville. He's pitched three innings without allowing a hit or a run. He has given up one walk and struck out three. Brian earned the save in EKU's win at Georgia Tech.

Caleb Upshaw hit .308 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs in the opening series at No. 15 Georgia Tech.

Will King made collegiate debut on Feb. 19 at No. 15 Georgia Tech. When he came into the game as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning he was 17 years and 170 days old. King graduated early from IMG Academy and enrolled at EKU for the spring semester. In his first collegiate at bat on Feb. 20 at Georgia Tech, King singled through the left side and drove in a run. He started behind the plate in the third game of the series on Feb. 21.

Daniel Harris IV was chosen as a second team Pre-Season All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

-Â Eastern Kentucky's 9-6 win at No. 15 Georgia Tech (Feb. 20, 2021) was the program's sixth victory against a top-30 team since the start of the 2016 season.

Darren Williams is scheduled to start the series-opener. The redshirt junior allowed two runs on five hits in five innings at No. 15 Georgia Tech to begin the season. He walked four and struck out four. Righty
Louis Davenport III will start game two. He pitched three innings in the win at Georgia Tech and allowed one run on three hits. He walked five and struck out four. Left-hander
Jake Lewis will get the ball for game three. The junior tossed four and two-thirds innings at Georgia Tech, allowing three runs on four hits.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Presbyterian College is 0-4 this season. The Blue Hose were swept by No. 17 Auburn to start the season, dropping the series finale 2-1 in 10 innings after being out-scored 20-4 in the first two games. On Wednesday, PC lost at home to Wofford 11-4. Â

- Presbyterian will start two right-handers in the first two games. Eric Miles will get the ball in game one. He is 0-1 this season with a 10.80 ERA. He allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings at Auburn. Freshman Duncan Howard is scheduled to start game two. He pitched five scoreless innings in the series finale at Auburn, walking four and striking out four. The starter for game three has not been announced.
