MOREHEAD, Ky. – Riding a two-game winning streak, Eastern Kentucky will open Ohio Valley Conference play on Friday at Morehead State.

The series opener is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will air live on ESPN+. The two teams will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.

-Â The two teams were about to begin a three-game series in Richmond on March 13, 2020 when the first shutdown due to COVID-19 occurred.Â

Caleb Upshaw hit a game tying home run in the bottom of the first and drove in both of Eastern's runs against Marshall. In his last two games, the right fielder/DH is 5-for-8 with a walk, a double, two home runs, three runs and four RBIs.

-  Six Eastern Kentucky relievers combined to pitch seven scoreless innings against Marshall. The group allowed two hits and four walks while striking out nine.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Morehead State enters the weekend at 5-6 overall. The Eagles have won three straight and four of their last five, including a victory over No. 4 Louisville. MSU took two of three from Marshall over the weekend and beat Ohio, 12-9, on Tuesday. Â

- Morehead State's offense is powered by the duo of first baseman Jackson Feltner and catcher Jack Gardner. Feltner is hitting .360 with three runs and six RBIs. Gardner is batting .343 and leads the team in runs (10), RBIs (10) and home runs (3). Â
