KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – One week after beating No. 7 Louisville, Eastern Kentucky will play at No. 9 Tennessee on Tuesday.
 
First pitch at Lindsey Nelson Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.  The game will air live on the SEC Network Plus.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Tennessee leads the all-time series 14-2. 
 
-  The teams last met on May 10, 2017 when the Volunteers came to Richmond and escaped with a 7-6 victory. 
 
-  Former Colonel left fielder Shea Sullivan went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs in that game.  Former Colonel first baseman Ben Fisher hit a home run, his 21st of the 2017 season which tied the program record. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (8-10, 3-3 OVC) took two of three from Tennessee-Martin over the weekend.  The Colonels have won four of their last five games.
 
-  Eastern's win over No. 7 Louisville was the program's seventh victory over a top-30 ranked team in the last six seasons.
 
-  Redshirt sophomore closer Will Brian has made three relief appearances against ranked teams this season – at No. 15 Georgia Tech, at No. 4 Louisville and against No. 7 Louisville.  He has pitched four innings without allowing a hit or a run.  He has given up one walk and struck out four.
 
-  Third baseman Santiago Peralta is batting .467 in his last four games with four runs scored.
 
-  Richmond native and freshman left-hander Bryce Travis picked up his first two collegiate victories last week.  He got the win against No. 7 Louisville after pitching two spotless innings.  Travis earned the win against UT Martin, tossing the final three innings and allowing just two base runners.  In the two appearances combined, he pitched five innings, gave up one hit, walked one and struck out seven.
 
-  Senior Brennan Kelly will get the start against the Volunteers.  He is 1-1 this season with a 7.90 ERA and 12 strike outs.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Tennessee is 17-4 this season and coming off a series victory over Georgia.  The Volunteers lost two games to Indiana State, one at Charlotte and one at Georgia.  
 
-  Shortstop Liam Spence leads the team in hitting (.373) and runs scored (24).  He also has two home runs and 18 RBIs.
 
-  Right fielder Jordan Beck is tied for the team lead with five home runs and has a team-best 25 RBIs while hitting .232 for the season.  
 
-  Left-hander Jake Fitzgibbons is scheduled to start for the Volunteers.  In his only appearance this season, the freshman allowed four runs on five hits and one walk in one inning of work.  He is 0-0 with a 36.00 ERA.
