KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the second time this season, the Eastern Kentucky University baseball team will travel to Knoxville to face a top-10 ranked University of Tennessee team.
 
First pitch against the No. 4 rated Volunteers at Lindsey Nelson Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.  The game will air live on the SEC Network Plus.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Tennessee leads the all-time series 15-2. 
 
-  The teams met on March 23 with then ranked No. 9 Tennessee winning 13-5. 
 
-  Catcher Will King was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the first meeting.  Logan Thomason also had two hits.  Caleb Upshaw was 1-for-3 with a home run, a run and a RBI. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (9-17, 4-8 OVC) came within two outs from winning a weekend series against Austin Peay, but the Governors tied it in the ninth and won it in the 10th to secure the series.
 
-  Eastern's win over No. 7 Louisville on March 16 was the program's seventh victory over a top-30 ranked team in the last six seasons, and second this year.
 
-  Daniel Harris (.382, 10 runs, two HRs, 6 RBIs, 10-game hitting streak), Kendal Ewell (.346, 4 runs, 1 HR, 7 RBIs) and Caleb Upshaw (.303, 8 runs, 4 HRs, 10 RBIs) are all hot over the last eight games.
 
-  In game one of Saturday's doubleheader against Austin Peay, Ewell, Charlie Ludwick and Logan Thomason hit back-to-back-to-back home runs, turning a 5-3 lead into a 9-3 advantage.
 
-  Freshman outfielder Max Williams hit .429 in the three-game series against Austin Peay.
 
-  Freshman Garret Simpson will make his first collegiate start.  The right-hander is 0-2 this season with a 5.30 ERA.  He has 15 strike outs and eight walks in 18 and two-thirds innings.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Tennessee is 24-5 this season and 7-2 in the Southeastern Conference.  The Vols are coming off a series victory at Alabama.  UT's win over the Colonels on March 23 started a 7-1 stretch, which included a three-game sweep of No. 14 LSU.  
 
-  Shortstop Liam Spence leads the team in hitting (.404) and runs scored (32).  He also has two home runs and 19 RBIs.
 
-  Right fielder Jordan Beck has a team-best 31 RBIs while hitting .243 for the season.  
 
-  Left-hander Jake Fitzgibbons is scheduled to start for the Volunteers.  He is 1-0 this season with a 7.11 ERA in four appearances and one start.  His only start of the season came against the Colonels on March 23 when he allowed one run on two hits in two innings.
