CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Kentucky will face Eastern Illinois on the road this weekend.
 
The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.  Saturday's series finale will get underway at 12 p.m. ET.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series 40-35. 
 
-  When the teams last met in 2019, the Colonels won two of three in Charleston. 
 
-  EKU is 5-1 against the Panthers in the last six meetings. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (9-18, 4-8 OVC) lost at No. 4 Tennessee on Tuesday.  The Colonels nearly won last weekend's series at home against Austin Peay, taking a 1-0 lead into the ninth inning of game three before falling in 10 innings.
 
-  Against Ohio Valley Conference teams only, outfielder Kendal Ewell is hitting a team-high .357 with two home runs, eight RBIs and four runs scored.
 
-  Daniel Harris IV (.375, 11 runs, two HRs, 6 RBIs, 11-game hitting streak), Ewell (.344, 5 runs, 2 HR, 10 RBIs) and Caleb Upshaw (.293, 8 runs, 4 HRs, 10 RBIs) are all hot over the last 10 games.
 
-  John Farley pitched two scoreless innings at No. 4 Tennessee.  He allowed just one hit and struck out a career-best four batters.
 
-  Freshman outfielder Max Williams hit .429 in the three-game series against Austin Peay.
 
-  Junior Louis Davenport III will start the opening game of the series.  He is 2-1 with a 7.62 ERA and 43 strike outs in 26 innings.  Junior left-hander Jake Lewis will get the ball for game two.  He is 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA.  Redshirt junior right-hander Darren Williams will start the final game.  He is 0-5 this season with a 6.06 ERA.
  
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Eastern Illinois is 14-13 overall and 5-7 against OVC teams.  The Panthers lost two of three at Belmont last weekend.  
 
-  Logan Eickhoff has a team-best .435 batting average to go along with 26 runs scored and 21 driven in, but hasn't played in the last five games.
 
-  Shortstop Trey Sweeney is batting .406 with a team-high eight home runs, 28 runs scored and 39 RBIs.  
 
-  Cameron Doherty is set to start game one for the Panthers.  The right-hander is 3-1 this season with a 3.32 ERA, starting three times in eight appearances.  He has struck out 42 and walked only six in 38 innings on the mound.  Right-hander Ky Hampton is scheduled to get the ball in game two.  He is 3-2 with a 5.93 ERA.  Lefty Trevor Nicholson, who is 2-2 with a 6.37 ERA, will start the final game.
