LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three Colonels broke school records at the Commonwealth College Opener on Saturday at the Norton Sports and Learning Center.
Jake Welch broke the men's indoor 300m record with a time of 34.27 while
Joy Nwokike got the women's indoor 300m record with a time of 39.27.
Alicia Recio shattered the women's indoor 600m record with a time of 1:36.29.
Saskia Pingpank won the women's mile run with a personal-best time of 5:00.96 and
Katy Chapman won the women's 1,000m with a career-best time of 3:03.30.
Mallory Hodge won her heat with a 300m time of 40.10 finishing ninth overall.
T'ya Suber clocked a 300m time of 40.37 and Joy Scott posted a time of 41.31.
Emily Roesser ran a time of 42.08.
Logan Sullivan clocked a 300m time of 35.35 seconds while
Devin Taylor posted a time of 35.71 in his first career race with the Colonels.
Javon Adams ran a time of 39.70.
Liam Kaune claimed third place in the men's 600m with a career-best time of 1:24.86 and
Gus Tichenor clocked a time of 1:27.08 finishing in fifth place.
Aniol Borras finished in third place in the men's mile run posting a time of 4:21.05.
Rolando Ortiz clocked a time of 4:26.33 and
Jake Pyles ran a personal-best time of 4:27.67.
After a break for the holidays, the team will compete at the Rod McCravy Invite hosted by in-state foe Kentucky on Jan. 13-14.
