FLORENCE, Ala. –
Eastern Kentucky will play its first-ever ASUN Conference series this weekend at North Alabama.

Friday's series opener has been pushed back to 7 p.m. ET.  Game two is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.  The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  This will be the first-ever meeting between the two baseball programs.

-  EKU and North Alabama share one common opponent so far this season.  The Lions beat Austin Peay, 7-5, at home in a midweek contest on March 2.  The Colonels won two of three over the Governors on the road this past weekend.

THE COLONELS
-  The series win over APSU was the third straight weekend series victory for Eastern Kentucky.  The Colonels fell to No. 2 Tennessee, 7-1, on Tuesday in Knoxville.

-  Sophomore third baseman Conner Davis hit his first home run of the season against No. 2 Tennessee.

-  Five EKU relievers combined to hold Tennessee scoreless over the final four innings, limiting the Vols to one hit and striking out six.

-  The pitching staff leads the ASUN Conference with 177 strikeouts this season.  The Colonels are 38th in the nation with 10.41 strikeouts per nine innings.

-  Will King is the toughest player in the ASUN, and the 28th toughest in the country, to strike out.  He has struck out four times in 62 at bats.  That's one strike out every 15.5 at bats.

-  Michael Schuler will get the ball for game one, Rese Brown is scheduled to start game two and Rian Yates will start game three against UNA.  Schuler is 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA on the season.  The sophomore right-hander pitched five shutout innings and allowed three hits against Austin Peay.  Brown is 1-2 with a 5.74 ERA.  Yates is 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA.  He surrendered two runs, one of which was earned, in two and two-thirds innings against APSU.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  North Alabama enters conference play with a 5-10 record.  One of UNA's wins was a 9-5 victory at Alabama on March 9.  The Lions have a home victory over Cincinnati and won two of three at home against Tennessee-Martin.

-  After falling at Murray State, 10-2, on Wednesday, North Alabama has lost five straight since the win over the Crimson Tide.

-  Luke Harper leads the team with a .341 batting average.  He has drawn 11 walks this season and is carrying a .481 on-base percentage.  Reid Homan has a team-high 10 RBIs and seven stolen bases.  Drew Hudson is batting .207 but leads the squad with 13 runs scored.

-  UNA is hitting .235 as a team and has only hit two home runs on the season.  The Lions are active on the bases with 35 steals, the second-most in the ASUN, in 48 attempts.  Seven players have four or more steals.

-  Austin Emener, a sophomore left-hander, has made nine appearances out of the bullpen for UNA and has two saves.  He is 0-0 with a 5.14 ERA.  In 14 innings he has struck out 25 and walked five.
