Baseball Set To Host Xavier On Tuesday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky will host Xavier on Tuesday at Earle Combs Stadium.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Xavier leads the all-time series 31-30.  EKU has won two in a row over the Musketeers, including a 5-3 decision in the most recent meeting on April 3, 2019 in Richmond.
 
-  Charlie Ludwick was 1-for-3 with a walk in the last game with Xavier.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU is 22-13 overall and 9-6 in the ASUN Conference.  The Colonels hit five home runs in an 8-6 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday.

-  Will King hit two home runs in the series finale against Central Arkansas.  In three games against the Bears, the sophomore catcher had a 1.154 slugging percentage, a .500 on-base percentage, three home runs, five runs scored, six RBIs and a .462 batting average.
 
-  Cameron Kalandros made two appearances against UCA.  He pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowed just one hit, did not give up a run or a walk and struck out two.
 
-  In his last 10 games, Jalen Jones is hitting .359 with a .432 on-base percentage and eight runs scored.
 
-  Kendal Ewell has reached base in 21 straight games.  He leads the team with a .381 batting average and 34 runs scored.
 
-  Freshman Isaac Milburn will start on the mound.  Milburn, a left-hander, is 1-1 with a 5.33 ERA.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Xavier is 19-18 this season and 3-3 in the Big East.  The Musketeers are coming off a series win over Villanova.  Xavier has wins at South Carolina (15-7), Coastal Carolina (9-5), Michigan (8-2), three wins in four games at Indiana and a four-game sweep of Cincinnati.
 
-  Tyler DeMartino has a team-high .352 batting average.  Luke Franzoni leads the team in home runs (15), RBIs (42) and is second in runs (36) and average (.344).
 
-  Jack Housinger has 10 home runs, 10 steals, 36 RBIs and a team-best 44 runs scored while batting .304.
 
-  Xavier is hitting .287 as a team with 56 home runs.
 
-  Jack Lynch has a 6-0 record and a 3.19 ERA in 17 relief appearances.  In 31 innings he has struck out 41 batters.
