Kendal Ewell picked up three more national honors. He was chosen as the Perfect Game/Rawlings Player of the Week and voted by fans as the Golden Spikes Award Performance of the Week on Tuesday. On Wednesday he was chosen as the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award Player of the Week.

The Golden Spikes Award Performance of the Week was specifically for his 5-for-5 game with three home runs, six RBIs and four runs scored against North Alabama on Saturday.

The Perfect Game/Rawlings Player of the Week and Bragan Award Player of the Week honors recognize his effort over four games last week in which "Ewell went absolutely bonkers" according to Perfect Game.Â

The sophomore hit .722 with five home runs, a double, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored. He posted a 1.611 slugging percentage and a .773 on-base percentage. Ewell was 13-for-18 at the plate.

In a three-game weekend series against North Alabama, Ewell was nearly unstoppable. He hit .800, going 12-for-15 at the plate with five home runs and 10 RBIs.  The Calumet City, Illinois native went 3-for-5 with two more home runs, four RBIs and two runs in the series finale. Ewell also had four hits in the series opener.

On Monday, Ewell was chosen as one of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Players of the Week and as the ASUN Conference Player of the Week.

The Colonels (26-13, 12-6 ASUN) won all four games and have won five in a row overall.

Eastern Kentucky, which is now in a first place tie in the ASUN West Division, will play at Northern Kentucky on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
