ATLANTA – Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes Quantasia Perry and Madison Fleming earned weekly ASUN track and field honors on Wednesday.

Perry was named the ASUN Female Track Athlete of the Week, while Fleming was named the ASUN Female Freshman of the Week.

Perry came away with two wins at the Hilltopper Relays last Saturday in Bowling Green. The senior from Covington, Georgia led the EKU women to victory in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.81. That time is currently the fastest in the ASUN and the fifth fastest in EKU history.

She followed that up by winning the 100 meters with a time of 11.77.

Perry is the second straight Colonel to earn ASUN Female Track Athlete of the Week honors. Her teammate, Laura Taborda, won last week after running a school-record time of 10:12.53 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Fleming was also a member of the winning 4x100 team that ran an ASUN-leading time of 45.81 on Saturday at the Hilltopper Relays.

The freshman from Atlanta then ran 14.36 in the 100-meter hurdles, which currently ranks No. 3 in the conference.

Fleming is the first Colonel ever to earn ASUN Freshman of the Week honors for track and field.

Perry, Fleming, and the rest of the Colonels are back in action this weekend at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina.
