EKU And Morehead State Meet For Second Time In A Week

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
One week after meeting in Richmond, rivals Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State will play in Morehead on Tuesday.
 
The game time has been changed to 4 p.m.  Weather permitting, the game will air live on ESPN+.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series 122-105-1.  The Colonels have won three straight over the Eagles.  EKU won 6-3 last week.
 
-  Will Brian broke the Eastern Kentucky record for saves in a season, picking up his 13th.  Max Williams went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple, one RBI and a run scored.  Isaac Milburn allowed one run on four hits in five innings of work on the mound.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU is 29-15 overall and 14-7 in the ASUN Conference.  The Colonels have won eight of their last 10.

-  Kendal Ewell leads the ASUN, and is sixth in the country, in hitting (.423).  He is seventh in the nation with a .526 on-base percentage.  Ewell has the best slugging percentage in the conference (.726), is fourth in RBIs (46) and fifth in runs (48).
 
-  As a team, EKU has drawn the second-most walks in the ASUN (225) and has the second-best on-base percentage (.379).
 
-  In five games last week, first baseman Charlie Ludwick hit .421 with two home runs, five RBIs and seven runs scored.
 
-  Anthony Vargas picked up the win on Sunday against Bellarmine and is now 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA over 18 relief appearances this season.  He has not allowed a run and has struck out 11 in his last eight appearances.
 
-  Milburn will start on the mound again against the Eagles.  The freshman lefty is 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 41 and two-thirds innings.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Morehead State is 19-23 overall and 8-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference.  After falling to Eastern Kentucky last week, the Eagles swept Tennessee-Martin at home over the weekend, scoring 28 runs in the three games.
 
-  Jackson Feltner is the team's top hitter and run producer.  He leads the squad in average (.399), RBIs (40) and home runs (11).
 
-  Morehead State's team batting average went from .288 to .294 over its last four games.  The Eagles have committed 24 more errors than their opponents.
 
-  John Bakke has made 21 appearances and has a team-best seven saves.  In 43 innings, he has struck out 54 and pitched to a 2.30 ERA.  However, he made his second start of the season on Sunday and pitched a nine-inning complete game.  Jarrett Miller (3-2, 4.58 ERA) has the most relief appearances on the season with 25.
 
-  Junior Matt Bettio will get the ball for the Eagles.  The right-hander is 2-1 with an 8.78 ERA in 14 appearances.  He's allowed 41 hits and 31 runs in 27 and two-thirds innings, but has only walked 10.
