Complete 2022 ASUN Championship All-Tournament Team
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Will King was chosen to the ASUN Conference Championship All-Tournament Team.
King was the only catcher selected to the 11-player all-tournament team.
The sophomore from New York, New York played in three of Eastern Kentucky's four games. He batted .667 with four runs, a double, a home run and three RBIs. King had eight hits in 12 at bats. He posted a 1.000 slugging percentage.
In the first tournament game against North Florida, King had a hit, a walk and two RBIs. He tied the game in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly and then gave the Colonels the lead for good with an RBI single in the fifth.
In the second game against Jacksonville State, he went 3-for-5 with a run scored.
Against No. 1 seed Liberty in the semifinals, King had a 4-for-4 game with a home run, three runs scored and an RBI. He helped the Colonels build an early 3-0 lead when he singled and scored in the second inning. His fifth inning home run tied the score at 5-5.
EKU won all three of its games in pool play to earn a spot in the ASUN Tournament semifinals. The Colonels finished the season 38-20, champions of the ASUN West Division and tied for the best conference record in the ASUN. It's the most wins for an EKU team since the 1990 squad won 42 games.
