EKU Track and Field Announces Indoor Schedule

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cory Erdmann announces that his indoor track and field schedule will feature nine meets. The EKU men are coming off their seventh NCAA Cross Country Championship appearance in the past 12 years while the women finished in 12th place at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
 
In the 2022-23 season, the men finished in fourth place at the Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships and the women finished in eighth place. The men earned three medals at the conference meet, including a gold medal in the distance medley relay where the Colonels shattered the EKU and ASUN record with a time of 9:43.73.
 
The Maroon and White begin their season at the Commonwealth College Opener in Louisville and the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener in Boston on Dec. 2.
 
After a break for the holidays, the Colonels will have a split weekend at the Bellarmine Open on Jan. 19 and the Vanderbilt Invitational on Jan. 19-20.
 
Then, Erdmann and company will compete at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville for the fourth consecutive season on Jan. 26-27.
 
After a week off, EKU will have another split weekend at the Music City Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt in Nashville and the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston on Feb. 9-10.
 
The Colonels will travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Feb. 17.
 
The ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championships will be at the Alachua Sports Center in Gainesville, Fla. on Feb. 23-24.
 
The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are set to take place in Boston on March 8-9.
