Colonels to Split Weekend at Jim Green Invite and Duke Twilight

RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams will close out the outdoor regular season by splitting this weekend between the Jim Green Invitational and Duke Twilight.
 
The Jim Green Invitational – hosted by the University of Kentucky – will take place in Lexington, Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
 
All-American Taha Er Raouy is set to race the men's 1,500 meters on Friday in Lexington. Er Raouy will look to improve upon his school-record 3:39.48 in the event, which he ran at Wake Forest on April 16. That time is currently No. 1 in the ASUN.
 
Metrine Serem will compete in the women's 1,500 meters at the meet. Serem ran 4:17.69 in the event at Wake Forest, which is currently the fastest in the ASUN.
 
Lariah Wooden headlines the throwers at the meet for EKU. Wooden will compete in the women's shot put on Saturday.  The two-time ASUN indoor shot put champion currently ranks No. 2 in the league with a throw of 14.78m.
 
Several other Colonel throwers also rank in the top five in the ASUN and will be competing at UK this weekend.
 
On the men's side: Matthew See (No. 3 in the shot put / 16.45m and No. 5 in the hammer / 51.72m)), William Kissick (No. 3 in the discus / 49.04m), JJ Love (No. 4 in the hammer / 51.73m) and Alex Camarca (No. 2 in the javelin / 60.71m).
 
On the women's side: Amya Livingston (No. 3 in the shot put / 14.58m), Lexi Lawless (No. 4 in the discus / 42.84m), and Senda Garma (No. 4 in the hammer / 55.27m).

Five Colonels will compete at the Duke Twilight on Sunday evening, May 3.
 
Edna Chelulei will make her outdoor 5,000 meters debut for this season in Durham. Chelulei was a first-team All-American in the indoor 5,000 meters, finishing sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She has already clocked a school-record time of 31:33.57 in the 10,000 meters this outdoor season.
 
Morgan Kobylinski (5,000 meters) and Khadija Ennasri (3,000 meter steeplechase) will also compete for the women at Duke.
 
For the men, Mario Priego Montero will race the 5,000 meters and Bradley Giblin will go in the 1,500 meters.
 
Following this weekend, the Colonels return to action at the ASUN Outdoor Championships May 14-16 in Jacksonville, Florida.
