RICHMOND, Ky. –

Bradley Giblin broke school records as the Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams split the weekend between the Jim Green Invitational and Duke Twilight.
See shattered EKU's 47 year old school record in the men's shot put on Saturday at the Jim Green Invite in Lexington, throwing a personal-best mark of 17.66 meters.
Scott DeCandia's record of 17.28 meters had stood since 1978.
See's throw currently ranks No. 2 in the ASUN and No. 43 in the NCAA East Region.
The senior from Dayton, Ohio is a two-time ASUN silver medalist in the indoor shot put.
Giblin closed out the weekend by running a school-record 3:37.12 in the men's 1,500 meters at the Duke Twilight on Sunday evening in Durham. He finished second out of 95 competitors in the event.
That time ranks No. 1 in the ASUN and No. 11 in the NCAA East Region.
Giblin – a native of Manchester, England – won the mile at the ASUN Indoor Championships in late February.
Other Colonels also delivered noteworthy performances over the weekend.
All-American
Edna Chelulei cruised to victory in the women's 5,000 meters at the Duke Twilight, beating a field of 43 competitors with a time of 15:36.70. Freshman
Morgan Kobylinski finished fifth in the same race with a personal-best time of 16:08.42.
Mario Priego Montero, meanwhile, took third out of 27 runners in the men's 5,000 meters at Duke, clocking a personal-best time of 13:43.81.
The Colonels won two events at the Jim Green Invite.
Taha Er Raouy won the men's 1,500 meters on Friday in a time of 3:42.86. On Saturday, freshman
Brian Kimutai edged out Purdue's Nerius White at the line to win the men's 5,000 meters in 14:08.34.
On the throws side,
Kristan Simmons moved into the top-five at EKU in both the women's discus and women's hammer. The sophomore from Stone Mountain, Georgia tossed a personal-best 43.15 meters in the discus (No. 3 all-time at EKU) and a personal-best 53.82 meters in the hammer (No. 2 all-time at EKU).
Lariah Wooden, meanwhile, threw an outdoor personal-best mark of 14.93 meters in the women's shot put on Saturday. That throw currently ranks No. 2 in the ASUN. Wooden is the two-time defending ASUN champion in the indoor shot put.
EKU has this weekend off before returning to action at the ASUN Outdoor Championships May 14-16 in Jacksonville, Florida.
