ATLANTA – Senior Pedro Garcia-Palencia earned the ASUN Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
 
The Benicassim, Spain native ran a personal-best 3,000-meter steeplechase time of 8:42.57 at the Mt. Sac Relays last week. His time ranks No. 1 in the ASUN, No. 6 in the region and No. 15 in the country.
 
Garcia-Palencia earned ASUN Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time.
 
The Colonels host the Rick Erdmann Twilight on Friday and Saturday (April 21-22) at the Tom Samuels Track. Garcia-Palencia will compete in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday in a loaded field.
